Incident involving a group of youths at Market Place leads to property damage at Hedges Law office.

The tranquility of Wallingford was shattered, quite literally, when a football broke the window of Hedges Law office in Market Place. The incident, believed to have involved a group of male youths, occurred on the evening of Sunday, June 4.

Around 8.50 pm, the youths were reportedly playing football when one of their kicks led to the ball smashing the law firm’s window. Wallingford’s Mayor Dan Beauchamp, who owns a stationery store two doors down from Hedges Law, wasn’t an eyewitness but was informed that the damage was caused by the group.

“I don’t think it was deliberate, but they definitely weren’t taking a lot of care,” Mayor Beauchamp commented on the incident.

Authorities were notified of the damage early Monday morning, at around 12:34 am. However, so far, no arrests have been made in connection to the property damage.

Investigations are ongoing, with officers scrutinising CCTV footage and encouraging anyone with information to come forward. “Officers are investigating the circumstances, including viewing CCTV, and anybody who has any information is urged to contact Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43230245774,” said a police spokesperson.
